Boca Grande Luxury Amenities
Boca Grande is a pleasant beach town on Gasparilla Island, located off Florida’s southeast Gulf Coast. Locals enjoy a laid-back lifestyle rich with luxury amenities—both indoor and outdoor. Although the community is popular with visitors, there’s a quiet charm to the town that hearkens back to old Florida and makes it one of the best places to live in the state.

Boca Grande’s population is roughly 1,700 and its location on the long, narrow barrier island gives it a sense of seclusion while offering residents a gorgeous lifestyle. Boca Grande’s top attractions include white sand beaches on the Gulf side and the posh Gasparilla Inn & Club. Boca Grande is known as the Tarpon Capital of the World for the terrific fishing in the surrounding waters.

Below are some of Boca Grande’s best amenities for luxury homeowners.

James Griffith Salon and Spa

The James Griffith Salon and Spa is one of the many wonderful amenities at the Gasparilla Inn & Club. People who have purchased Boca Grande condos for sale love to pamper themselves with a visit to this full-service salon with a friendly, knowledgeable staff. The JGS Boca Grande has been open for 22 years and is the best place to go on the island for hair cutting, styling, coloring, extensions, nail services, facials, full brow and waxing services, and makeup services. The salon is just steps from the beach and is one of many wellness amenities at the Gasparilla Inn & Club. There’s also a lap pool, fitness center, and exercise studio. The salon is open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Sunday by appointment from October through June. From July through September, it’s open only on Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Gasparilla Inn Golf Course

People who have purchased Boca Grande homes for sale quickly find out how special it is to play a round at the Gasparilla Inn Golf Course. It’s not just the championship golf course that stands out. The location on an adjacent island on the Charlotte Harbor side of Boca Grande is simply breathtaking. The fabulous water views and breezes coming off the Gulf are as memorable as the par-72 layout that stretches 6,811 yards from the gold tees.

The course has been in its current location since the 1930s. Renowned golf course architect Pete Dye reworked the layout in the early 2000s, and the course reopened in 2004. There’s plenty of water on the course itself, including lakes and ponds, and the signature hole is the stunning par-4 15th that plays right alongside the harbor. Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy this course.

Great local fishing

Boca Grande is known as the Tarpon Capital of the World because the waters surrounding it are home to many silver game fish. The area attracts numerous recreational anglers and there are even annual fishing contests to enjoy. One of the most popular spots to fish is the Boca Grande Pass, which is the entrance to Gasparilla Sound-Charlotte Harbor and separates Boca Grande from Cayo Costa Island. The Boca Grande Pass is great for fishing for tarpon and sharks. There are many other spots in the surrounding area for fishermen to cast their lines up and down the island. They include the Boca Grande Fishing Pier, surf fishing from kayaks and the beach, and charter boats that head out onto the Gulf of Mexico to some great deep-water fishing spots.

Boating

Living in Boca Grande real estate offers the ideal opportunity for terrific boating. Many residents who live along the various waterways keep powerboats at their private docks and often head out onto the saltwater for a day of fishing or island hopping. It’s fun to explore nearby islands such as Cabbage Key, Pine Island, Cayo Costa, and Useppa. There are restaurants and bars to visit on these islands, as well as fishing holes and beaches. For those who prefer others to do the driving, there are many options for boating charters and tours that leave from the Intracoastal Waterway on the harbor side of Boca Grande

Beaches on the Gulf of Mexico

Among Boca Grande’s most treasured attractions are its many beaches stretching along the Gulf of Mexico. There are 14 beaches in total, from stretches of beautiful white sand right in town down to Gasparilla Island State Park on the southern tip of the island. Gasparilla State Park and the Barrier Island Parks Society have four beach access points starting at the Range Lighthouse just south of 5th street and stretching down to the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse.  Not only can visitors enjoy the sand and surf, but they can check out several historic lighthouses that dot the coastline.
